Punjab Government Freezes Assets of Banned Terrorist Organization
Shiite News: The Punjab government has frozen assets worth Rs. 23.4 billion of office-bearers of the banned extremist group, the “Crane Party,” and filed cases against nine of its key financiers.
The action also included the immediate blocking of 92 bank accounts along with JazzCash and other digital wallets linked to the banned organization.
A special meeting on law and order, chaired by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, was convened to review recent operations.
It was decided that the Punjab government would formally request the federal government to ensure similar strict actions are taken against the banned extremist group in other provinces.
During the meeting, officials were briefed that 31 cases have so far been registered against individuals sharing content on social media that undermines national security.
