Shiites end 39 hours sit-in after demands met
Shia Ulema Council announced an end to Sit-in that was being staged on M.A Jinnah Road for over 39 hours since Friday afternoon.
The Shia Ulema council (SUC) also called off Sindh-wide wheel jam protest after Governor Sindh met Shia leaders and assuredthem to meet all their demands.
Governer Sindh Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan invited Shia leaders to Governor House where Allama Nazir Abbas Taqvi of SUC, Maulana Sadiq Raza Taqvi of Majlis Wahdat Muslameen and officials of other Shia parties held talks.
As representative of Federal Government, governor Sindh assured Shia leaders that Government would take action against terrorists. He assured target killers of Shiites would be arrested and punished.
On the categorical assurance from Governor Sindh, SUC announced an end to their protest sit-in. They thanked Shiites for largely participating in the sit-in.
