Gilgit-Baltistan witnesses peaceful protest of Shiites against KIU

Gilgit-Baltistan has witnessed province-wide protest from Shiites against the rustication and expulsion of 17 Shia Students on Friday. Shia students are being punished for holding a Youm-e-Hussain (AS) in the Karakoram International University (KIU). After Friday prayers, Shiites came out on streets raising slogans against the KIU administration. They demanded that the unjust and biased decision that victimized innocent Shia students should be rescinded. The protest rallies were staged in Gilgit, Skardu, Danyore, Jutal, Nagar, Gamba, Rondu, Shigar and other places in the G-B province.
