Ayatollah al-Sistani offers condolences over Ayat. Asefi’s death

On the occasion of the passing away of the representative of Ayatollah Khamenei in Najaf, Ayatollah Asefi, the Iraqi top cleric, Grand Ayatollah al-Sistani issued a message of condolence. In his message on Thursday, Grand Ayatollah al-Sistani expressed grief over the demise of the late Ayatollah Asefi and condoled the tragic event to “the Islamic seminaries, his family and all his disciples.”

Ayatollah Arefi passed away on Thursday morning shortly after his morning prayer. Ayatollah Arefi had long been suffering from liver cancer.
