Suicide bombings during Friday prayer leaves 20 Shia Muslims martyred

At least 18 Shia Muslims were martyred and around 50 injured due to 3 blasts during Friday prayer congregation in Masjid-e-Imamia, Hayatabad area of Peshawar today. Initial reports had it that takfiri suicide bombers disguised as Frontier Constabulary cops stormed into the mosque and then blasts occurred.

Three huge explosions that occurred inside Masjid-e-Imamia rocked entire Hayatabad. Shia Muslims were offering Friday prayers when they were targeted. Wahhabis-allied Deobandi takfiri terrorist outfits such as Sipah-e-Sahaba (ASWJ), its subsidiary Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, Deobandis Taliban or TTP and like-minded groups and affiliates are involved in genocide against Shia Muslims in Pakistan.

Eighteen Shia Muslims were martyred and at 60 injured in Shia mosque and Imam Bargah situated in Hayatabad Phase-5 in Peshawar. Condition of many wounded Shiites are said to be critical.

According to initial reports, intense firing continues in the area.

Witnesses were quoted saying that six men; in Frontier Corps (FC) uniform, entered the mosque during Friday prayers and hurled grenades at the security personnel deputed at the site. One of the attackers also reportedly blew himself up.

Police and rescue workers have reached the site and the injured are being taken to nearby hospitals. Frontier Corps personnel have launched an operation in the mosque, according to latest reports.
