Home Secretary apologizes to court over non-appearance in enforced disappearance case, arrest warrant issued

Shiite News: Federal Home Secretary seeks unconditional apology from court in missing persons case. The Sindh High Court heard petitions for the recovery of missing persons, in which the Federal Secretary Home, Director Human Rights, Attorney General and other officials appeared before the court on a court order. During the hearing, the Home Secretary submitted a reply to the show cause notice and sought an unconditional apology from the court.

The Home Secretary said that he respects the courts. He could not appear due to his busy schedule. Justice KK Agha spoke to the Home Secretary and said that he was in a very important position. The court has to issue a non-bailable arrest warrant, the issue of enforced disappearance is very important, which has to be eliminated.

On the court resentment, the Home Secretary said that he respects the courts, could not respond to unavoidable reasons, assures the court that he will implement the next court order. He told the court that except three missing persons I could not able to get information of others.

Justice KK Agha said that the Federal Ministry of Home Affairs is the most powerful ministry in the country. Is enforced disappearance of citizens in the country acceptable? On this question, the Home Secretary said that enforced disappearance is not acceptable at all.

On this occasion, the Attorney General assured the court that the federal government is taking very serious steps on the issue of missing persons and every effort is being made to find the missing persons. The court later adjourned the case till August 4.
