Interior Minister directs to further improve facilities for the Zaireen, the pilgrims who go to Iran and via Iran to Iraq through land border crossings.

The Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed issued these directives during his visit to Balochistan province.

He personally visited the border areas between Pakistan and Iran and Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Specially, he visited Taftan border and also held meetings with civilian officials and security forces higher authorities.

During the Quetta visit, he got briefing on border surveillance during Quetta visit.

There he lauded role of Frontier Corps Balochistan in maintaining law and order in Balochistan province.

Furthermore, Sheikh Rashid said the government is taking all possible steps to ensure peace in Balochistan.

He also shared views with IG FC North Major General Muhammad Yousuf Majoka.

Meanwhile, he got an in depth briefing on operational readiness, border surveillance and law and order.

Moreover, he announced that the government would ensure implementation of all points of the National Action Plan.

He also made pledge to strengthen inter-provincial coordination to improve law and order.

The Interior Minister also laid a floral wreath at the Martyrs’ Memorial.

Earlier, he had visited Taftan border where he hoped completion of the border fencing with Iran by the end of this year.

Sheikh Rashid noted completion of 40 percent work on the fencing has so far been completed.

He further said that Pakistan government would ensure border management on modern lines with Iran and Afghanistan.

The minister further said that all resources will be utilized for external security of the country.

Meanwhile, the Interior Minister also directed the authorities concerned to further improve facilities for the Zaireen.
