gilgit-lahu-lahu-495x444In what appeared to equate the victims and perpetrators, Markazi Imamia Masjid was also sealed with the seal-off of Wahabis’ central mosque.
Qazi Nisar, mastermind of terrorism against innocent Shia Muslims, is not allowed to leave his house.
Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen has demanded that government should take steps to act upon the agreement it has made with the MWM in Islamabad.
The MWM has rejected the policy of “balance” under which the government equates victims and perpetrators. The MWM said that Shia Muslims are victims of terrorism and banned outfit Sipah-e-Sahaba (that has been working under new name) is perpetrator of terrorism against Shia Muslims.
The MWM demanded that Qazi Nisar should be arrested forthwith and he must be awarded capital punishment because he is the mastermind.
On the other hand, Karachi-based daily The Express Tribune has reported on Monday that the alleged mastermind and five others wanted in the Kohistan and Chilas massacres were arrested by law enforcement agencies on Monday. Quoting official sources in the Gilgit-Baltistan Police, the newspapers reported that over 450 personnel of law enforcement agencies –army, Northern Scouts, Gilgit Scouts, Rangers and FC led by major and captain level officers equipped with mortar guns and sophisticated weapons had besieged the madrassah run by the main accused, Qari Muzamil Shah, in Chilas. They warned that if he did not surrender his madrassah will be bombed. The local jirga intervened and persuaded the wanted cleric to surrender. His other accomplices arrested were identified as Sher Ghazi, son of Rustam Khan, Shamsul Haq, son of Shah Alam, Nisar, son of Munawar, the official told the newspaper.

However, MWM leaders were not satisfied with this performance because action against Shia mosque proved that government was trying to equate victims and perpetrators.
