Over 400 takfiri terrorists held in Karachi since September last year

The Senate Standing Committee on Interior was briefed on Monday that more than a thousand criminals had been arrested including takfiri nasbi terrorists of Taliban and its allied Sipah-e-Sahaba, Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (ASWJ), etc.

Colonel Tahir Mehmood of Pakistan Rangers also told the meeting that 60 members of the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and 352 militants of other banned outfits were arrested ever since the operation was started in the city.

The meeting, chaired by Talha Mehmood, was also told that 560 members of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), 539 members of the Amn Committee and 40 of the Awami National Party (ANP) were also arrested by Rangers during the Karachi operation.

Pakistan Rangers officer claimed that backbone of Taliban was broken in Karachi and they were not able to regroup due to targeted operation and Operation Zarb-e-Azb.
