Allama Shafqat meets Iraqi Supreme Council leader Sheikh Hamoudi to discuss Zaireen issues.

Allama Shafqat meets Iraqi

MWM Foreign Affairs head Allama Shafqat Shirazi called on Sheikh Baqir Hamam Hamoudi.

As per statement of Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen, he apprised him of Pakistani Zaireen problems relating to visas.

Notably, Sheikh Hamoudi has also served Iraq as deputy speaker of the Parliament. Hence, MWM leader requested him to play his role to ensure that Iraq government don’t delay visas to Pakistani pilgrims.

However, he also thanked Iraqi polity and clergy for their timely cooperation ahead of Arbaeen pilgrimage.

Shirazi also discusses Kashmir issue

Besdies, Allama Shafqat also dsicussed the latest situation of Kashmir where India oppress Muslims.

Moreover, he briefed Hamoudi on threats to peace due to nuclear powers tension in South Asia.

Sheikh Hamoudi supports Kashmiris

While expressing his viewpoint, Sheikh Hamoudi said that from the day one he supported idea of plebiscite.

Meanwhile, he condemned Indian atrocities in Kashmir. He emphasised the Iraqi government to play due role in support of Kashmiris.

Arbaeen Pilgrimage

Most importantly, Shia Muslims go to pilgrimage of sacred shrines of Islamic saints. Although they regularly visit shrines of infallible Imams of Shia Islam, yet 20th Safar remains reserved for pilgrimage of Karbala.

Notably, Zaireen (pilgrims) regularly visit holy shrines of infallible Imams of Shia Islam in Iraq, Iran and Medina .  But, they commemorate anniversary of 40th day (Arbaeen in Arabic and Chehlum in Urdu) of martyrdom anniversary of Ashura on 20th Safar.

Ashura to Arbaeen

Factually, Ashura too remains a special day of scared mourn in Shia Islam. That’s because of matchless martyrdoms of Imam Hussain-led Martyrs of Karbala.

However, infallible leaders of Shia Islam had emphasised on pilgrimage of sacred shrine of Imam Hussain on Arbaeen.

Hence, Shia Muslims try their level best to reach Karbala (Iraq) on 20th Safar.

And those who cannot go to Karbala, participate in Arbaeen walk in their native cities and towns across the world. That remains Shia Islamic tradition.

Notably, in Pakistan and India, Arbaeen is called Chehlum, the 40th day.
