Pakistan national security body alerts the world of instability due to India
Pakistan’s National Security Committee (NSC) warned the world that India’s irrational actions could destabilise the region.
Most importantly, Pakistan civilian-military leadership also vowed to firmly respond to any act of Indian aggression.
The NSC met yesterday where Prime Minister Imran Khan presided over.
Particularly, the NSC noted Indian military buildup in held Kashmir and brutal use [of force] against an unarmed population was adding fuel to fire.
Furthermore, the NSC said that recent Indian measures would increase the levels of violence.
It also warned against turning area into a flashpoint and destabilising factor in midst of two strategically capable neighbouring countries.
In this regard, statement issued after the meeting further referred to India adding fuel to fire.
Particularly, the NSC noted that India through its military buildup in held Kashmir and brutal use [of force] against an unarmed population was adding fuel to fire.
“Pakistan condemns Indian actions in this regard which would have adverse implications for regional and international peace,” the NSC said.
Most importantly, Pakistan reaffirmed diplomatic, moral and political support to Kashmiri struggle.
Significantly, the top security body’s meeting held to review the situation along the Line of Control.
Specially, meeting came in the aftermath of firing of cluster bombs by Indian forces on civilian population in Azad Kashmir.
And also the developments in held Kashmir where India deployed am additional over 28,000 troops. India also has evacuated tourists, rationing of essential items in Amarnath Yatra, a Hindu pilgrimage, cancelled.
Also, Pakistan reaffirmed diplomatic, moral and political support to Kashmiri struggle.
Meanwhile, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee of armed forces, Army Chief represented their institutions. Many others also attended the meeting. They included: Naval Chief Admiral Zafar Mehmood Abbasi and Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan.
AJK Prime Minister Farooq Haider and notably ISI Director General Lt Gen Faiz Hameed and other senior officers also attended.
Moreover, attendees included: Special Adviser to the PM on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan and Defense Minister Pervez Khattak.
Also, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Ali Amin Khan Gandapur.
Moreover, Interior Minister retired Brig Ijaz Ahmad Shah and Adviser on Finance Dr Abdul Hafeez Sheikh also attended.
