KSA forces open fire on Qatif protesters

KSA forces open fire on Qatif protestersAt least three protesters have been injured in clashes with Saudi Arabian police forces as Riyadh attempts to extinguish the ongoing popular uprising in the kingdom.

The violence broke out on Friday when Saudi security forces opened fire demonstrators in the town of Qatif.

Activists said snipers on roof-tops targeted the demonstrators in the restive Eastern Province.

Similar protest rallies were also held in several towns and villages in the oil-rich province, where demonstrators called for freedom and equality.

They also called for the release of the thousands of political activists held in jail, vowing that they will never forget those killed by regime forces.

Saudi activists continue to stage street rallies against the ruling Al Saud family despite the monarchy’s severe ban on protests and political gatherings of any kind.

In November, Saudi forces attacked thousands of demonstrators, killing five people. The deaths fueled further demonstrations held on an almost daily basis since then.
