French activists hold rally to condemn Israel raids on Gaza

Protesters gathered in central Paris on Saturday to join a march toward the Palace de la Republique to show solidarity with the Palestinians and slam the latest wave of Israeli violence on the besieged enclave.
Demonstrators also demanded a boycott of Israeli products, as well as sanctions on Tel Aviv because of what they called its acts of terrorism.
Over 160 Palestinians, including women and children, were killed and about 1,200 others were injured in over 1,500 Israeli attacks on Gaza that were carried out during the eight-day period of November 14-21.
On Wednesday, Egypt announced that the Israeli regime and the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas had reached a ceasefire agreement.
Under the deal, Palestinians and Israelis agreed to end all hostilities against each other. Israel also agreed to open all crossings and facilitate the movement of people and goods in and out of the Gaza Strip. However, it did not accept to lift the blockade of the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli military frequently carries out airstrikes and other attacks on the Gaza Strip, saying the actions are being conducted for defensive purposes. However, in violation of international law, disproportionate force is always used and civilians are often killed or injured.
People have staged rallies in Turkey, Italy, Spain, France, Iran, Algeria, Norway, Chile, South Korea, Australia and some other countries have held many demonstrations to condemn the recent Israeli onslaught on Gaza.
