Hamas Leader: 112 Bodies Recovered in Gaza Are Living Evidence of Israeli Crimes; More Than 9,000 Martyrs Still Await Burial

Gaza: Hamas leader Khalil al-Hayya stated that the recovery of the remains of 112 martyrs in Gaza stands as “living evidence” of Israeli crimes. The victims belonged to the Abu Sharia and Al-Husayniyah families, who were killed when an Israeli airstrike destroyed a residential building. Their bodies were recovered from beneath the rubble nearly three years after the attack.

Al-Hayya described the incident as one of the largest and most serious crimes committed during what he called the war of genocide in the Gaza Strip.

Meanwhile, Munir Al-Bursh, Director General of the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza, said that more than 9,000 martyrs have still not been buried because many bodies remain trapped beneath rubble or are otherwise inaccessible.

He stated that while Israel has officially announced a halt to mass killings on paper, attacks on Palestinians continue. According to Al-Bursh, more than 20 people were killed during the past 24 hours, with most of the victims being women, children, and civilians. He added that many families have also been deprived of the opportunity to give their loved ones a dignified burial.

Al-Bursh said that the tragedy in Gaza cannot be measured only by the number of deaths, but also by the number of entire families wiped out and homes that have effectively become mass graves.

On Tuesday, Gaza witnessed one of its largest funeral processions, with the remains of 112 victims laid to rest. A spokesperson for Gaza’s Civil Defense questioned the international community, asking why children in Gaza continue to be killed.

According to available figures, 308 members of the Abu Sharia and Al-Husayniyah families have been killed or remain missing. Palestinian officials say that Israeli military operations have continued despite the ceasefire.

Palestinian sources also argue that the international community’s silence has contributed to the continuation of the violence, while groups aligned with the Axis of Resistance say they remain committed to supporting the Palestinian people.
