Mohsin Naqvi Orders Feasibility Study for Karachi-Iraq Ferry Service
Mohsin Naqvi has directed the Pakistan Coast Guards to prepare a feasibility report for launching a ferry service from Karachi to Iraq.
The Interior Minister stated that the martyrs of the Pakistan Coast Guards have made unforgettable sacrifices to protect coastal areas, and their contributions will always be remembered. He expressed these views during his visit to the Coast Guards headquarters in Karachi.

Mohsin Naqvi instructed officials to assess the feasibility of operating a ferry service between Karachi and Iraq, adding that such a service would greatly facilitate pilgrims traveling to Iraq.
According to a spokesperson, the Interior Minister also chaired a special meeting of the Coast Guards. Director General Major General Jawad Riaz welcomed him upon arrival.
The minister visited the martyrs’ memorial at the headquarters, laid floral wreaths, and offered prayers. During a briefing, he was informed that 14,000 kilograms of narcotics had been seized over the past year, with an estimated value exceeding 8 billion rupees.
He was also briefed on the professional training and operational preparedness of the Pakistan Coast Guards. Mohsin Naqvi appreciated their capabilities and reiterated the importance of launching the ferry service feasibility study.
Additionally, he directed authorities to continue strong actions against drug trafficking and smuggling, emphasizing the need to eliminate smuggling networks. He highlighted that the Pakistan Coast Guards is a force that performs duties simultaneously on land and at sea.
