Syria in Last 24 Hours: Army Pounds ISIL Command Center in Reqqa Province

syrian armyThe Syrian air force pounded the central command center of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant in Al-Reqqa province, killing tens of ISIL militants in there.

The Syrian fighter jets struck ISIL’s main command center and its financial management center in Al-Reqqa.

The Syrian army conducted major military operations in different parts of the country in the last 24 hours.

In Aleppo countryside in Northern Syria, the army continued its operations in Qabtan al-Jabal, Deir Jamal, Al-Harreh, Al-Sheikh Massoud, Bani Zeid, Al-Awijeh, Hanano, Al-Anzarat, Belas, Heilan and Al-Rashedeen.

Other army units also made major advances in Old Aleppo city after fierce clashes with militants.

Army units targeted militants’ concentration camps in several areas in Kweiris, Qabtan al-Jabal, the free zone, al-Sheikh Maqsoud, al-Jbeileh, al-Inzarat, Blass, al-Sheikh Najar and Hailan, killing many militants and injuring others.

The source added that other army units destroyed many militants’ vehicles with all militants inside in Handarat, Khan al-Asal, Hanano, Tal Rafaat, Tal Jabin, Hayan and Babis.

Also, the Syrian military forces killed one of the most notorious terrorists in fierce clashes in the outskirts of Aleppo.

Redwan Tamru, one of the leading commanders of a terrorist group known as “Leva’el-Towhid”, was killed in a major battle with Syrian army units in Aleppo suburbs.

Army units confronted militants’ attempt to attack a military post near Busra town in Daraa, killing several militants and wounding others.

A military source said that army units killed many militants in Atman town, destroying their weapons and ammunition, in addition to targeting concentration centers of militants in al-Bajaja neighborhood and the surrounding area of al-Jamarek in Daraa city, killing many of them.

Also in Mleiha town, heavy clashes between army and militants are going on and the soldiers prevented the terrorists to retake control of the locations that they had previously lost. The army killed at least 35 militants and injured 50 others in Mleiha operations.

Elsewhere, the Syrian military sources rejected the news about control of the militants over the Al-Dalalati Mosque in Mleiha.

In Eastern Ghouta, the Syrian army targeted a convoy of the militants in Moltahaq al-Jonoubi near Al-Kabas bridge and it also destroyed the positions of these groups in Arabeen, Zulmaka and Kafr Batna towns.

In Homs in Central Syria, the local sources underlined that the negotiations between Syrian army and militants stationed in Al-Wa’ar district of Homs is still underway and the news leaked outside indicate that the two sides are going to reach a final agreement.

Meantime, the Syrian army units repelled the militants’ attacks aiming to penetrate into Talbiseh, Rastan, Jabourin, Um Shashouh and Kafr Nan in Eastern parts of Homs for the third time.

Meanwhile, a military source said that the army units targeted militants’ hideouts and concentration camps in Kfar Roheen, Bab al-Hawa, Binnish, Ebla, Heleh, Maarbled, Kfar Shlaya and the area surrounding Jisr al-Shoghour in Idlib countryside, killing and injuring a number of them, in addition to destroying two cars which were heading to al-Basheriyeh in the countryside along with the weapons and ammunition inside them.

The development comes as intense battles also continue between Syrian armed forces and foreign-backed insurgents in Daraa countryside in Al-Lutf village near al-Lajat region.

Further in the outskirts of capital Damascus, the report adds, dozens of foreign-backed insurgents perished during battles with government troops in Khan-al-Sheikh, Daria and Zakiya regions.

Syrian army units also targeted insurgent staging grounds in al-Qusoor and al-Mazara’a regions of Khan-al-Sheikh suburb of Damascus countryside, killing many of the armed insurgents.

Scores of insurgents, including a number of non-Syrian elements, were also killed by government troops in battles near the town of Jubair, also in Damascus outskirts.

The Al-Qaeda-linked rival groups continued their fierce clashes in the Eastern parts of Syria as reports said the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant has intensified its attacks on rival Al-Qaeda group, the Al-Nusra Front.

The clashes intensified between the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) and the Al-Nusra Front in Al-Salehiya town in the Northern parts of Deir Ezzur, specially in Al-Halabiya Square.

Reports said the ISIL is pushing back the Al-Nusra from its positions, inflicting repeated defeats and huge losses on the rival group.

Tens of militants from both sides have been killed and dozens more injured.

The Syrian army destroyed several concentration centers of the militants near the country’s borders with Turkey.

The army units destroyed the concentration centers of Ahrar Al-Sham militant group near the Syria-Turkey border, specially Baba Al-Hawa passage.

Early reports said dozens of the militants have been killed and wounded in the attack.
