Eighteen worshippers were wounded when an improvised explosive device (IED) went off near a Shiite mosque north of al-Hilla city on Friday, a local police source said.
According to the Shiite News, Eighteen worshippers were wounded when an improvised explosive device (IED) went off near a Shia mosque north of al-Hilla city on Friday, a local police source said.
“The IED exploded off the Shiite mosque of al-Zubaydi neighborhood in the district of al-Djebla, (50 km) north of Hilla,â€Â
“The explosion left 18 worshippers wounded,†he said, not giving further details about the incident.
Hilla, the capital city of Babel province, lies 100 km south of Baghdad.
