The Suicide bomber who attacked on Iraqi soldiers was American National: ISIS

According to ABNA news, ISIS has announced that the suicide bomber who attacked a group of Iraqi soldiers preparing for an operation to recapture the city of Tikrit on Monday was an American national.

The terrorist group announced that “Abu Dawud al-Amriki” blew up a truck full of explosives near Iraqi soldiers and fighters south of Tikrit which killed dozens.

The group said that the suicide attack has been carried out as the major operation of the Iraqi army to retake Tikrit started.

The takfiri group said: “The brother Abu Dawud al-Amriki launched himself with his explosives-laden truck,”. The last part of that pseudonym — “al-Amriki” — means “from America.”

An estimated 20,000 foreign fighters from 90 different countries are believed to have travelled to the region, which has raised fears — particularly in Europe — of radicalized fighters then returning home. Recent estimates are that over 2,500 European fighters had joined the conflict in Iraq and Syria, up significantly from 1,937 in 2013. The top two countries of origin are France and the UK.
