PM Adil Abdul Mahdi underlines brotherly Iraq-Iran relations in interest of both

The Iraqi Prime Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi stressed good and brotherly relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran and reiterated that Iraq is seeking an exemption from sanctions against Iran that would allow it to keep importing Iranian gas.

Addressing a press conference, Mahdi said Baghdad believes that focusing on commonalities will solve problems. This is while, focusing on disagreements will resolve no problem, he added.
He noted that relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran are within the framework of the national interests of the two countries and are not affected by the will and pressure of others.
He added that despite measures taken by Daesh to raise the morale of its members, high-level countermeasures are underway to fight terrorism.
