Shia Doctor kidnapped in Quetta
Unidentified terrorists kidnapped a Shia doctor, Mumtaz Haideri, near the Golimar intersection in Quetta, provincial capital of Balochistan Province in the broad daylight.According to the Shiite News Correspondent, Dr Mumtaz, who is the head of the Physiology Department at the Bolan Medical College (BMC), was on his way to the BMC when a group of armed men intercepted his car near the Golimar Chowk on  Brewery Road. The kidnappers took the victim away to an undisclosed location at gunpoint and left the driver in the car.
Professor Dr Mumtaz Haider was the coordinator of Immia Medics International (IMI) Quetta Chapter, was abducted by the miscreants on Monday.
Police confirmed that it was an incident of kidnapping-for -ransom. “Police are carrying out raids in different parts of the city to trace out the kidnappers,†a senior official said A case has been registered in the Brewery Police Station. staff report
According to the IMI Communiqué, IMI Pakistan’s Coordinator, Dr. Arif Naqvi, and IMI team in Pakistan was mobilizing all channels to secure his release. IMI Pakistan has urgently taken up this matter with Dr. Mirza Azhar Ali, General Secretary of the Pakistan Medical Association (PMA), among others, to launch a formal protest and make the media aware of this grave situation and the consequences of any harm that may (God forbid) be inflicted upon him.
