Saudi Wahhabi Authorities Released 18 Innocent Shiite Prisoners

shiitenews_Saudi_Wahhabi_Authorities_ReleasedOn 18 July 2011 , the Saudi Authorities released 18 Shiite prisoners who were detained against the backdrop of protests in the Qatif about four months ago.

Among the detainees , the writer Hussein Abdullah Yousif who was arrested on charges of involvement in the protests.

Hussein Yousif was transferred to the central hospital of Qatif by his family directly after release because of health problems including cartilaginous slide .

The list of detainees who were released yesterday included the citizens : Amen al-Sihati , Meden al-Khonaizi , Khlid al-Senan , Hussain al-Ramadhan , Hussain al-Qasim , Ahmad al-Sa’edi , Hassan al-Salim , Ali al-Qatari , Ali al-Senan , Hussain al-Dakheel , Maher al-Maher , Sharaf al-Mosouwi , Mahmood al-Saffar , Jasim al-Mouiyes , Hussain al-Dakheel , Ahmad al-Saffar and Hussain al-Fadhel .

The detainees served more than four months of imprisonment under the charge of taking part in demonstrations in Qatif last March .

It is worth to mention that nearly 100  protesters were arrested and remain in detention since last May on charges of involvement in the demonstrations in al-Qatif callied for political rights for Shi’a minority , lifting of sectarian discrimination as well as the release of of religious prisoners and the nine prisoners who are detained on suspicion of Khobar bombing against of the U.S. troops.
