Aiman al- Zawahiri Cracks Deal with Pakistan against Pakistani Captive Militarymen in Logar
Sheikh Aiman al-Zawahiri has allegedly cracked a deal with Pakistani government in lieu of the recent helicopter crash resulting in Pakistani Army men taken captive at the hands of Afghan Taliban.
According to sources, Pakistan government has released three daughters of Aiman Zawahiri in exchange for their military men captured during the helicopter crash in Logar province, Afghanistan.
Two names of his daughters have surfaced Fatima Aiman, Imamah Aiman Zawahiri and the third is still unknown, have been released from Pakistan’s Military captivity last night.
Afghan officials confirmed the helicopter went down late on Thursday in Logar province, close to the Afghan-Pakistan border, an increasingly lawless area.
“Those detained by the Taliban are Pakistanis,” said Sameem Saleh, spokesman for Logar’s governor.
Nafees Zakaria, a spokesman for the Pakistani foreign office, confirmed that seven passengers were on board, six of them Pakistanis and one a Russian technician.
The names of the military men captured are Col (r) Shafique, Col (r) Safdar Hasan, Captain Safdar Ashraf, Engineer Nasir Mehmood and two others.
Al Zawahiri is the current leader of Al-Qaeda and is on the most wanted list of FBI. Since the September 11 attacks, U.S. State Department has offered a US$25 million reward for information leading to al-Zawahiri’s capture.
