Hunger Strike Camp Day 71: Allama Hasan Zafar Hospitalized

Majlis Wahdat ul Muslimeen (MWM) leader and renowned cleric Allama Hasan Zafar Naqvi is hospitalized under intensive care unit (ICU) fighting for health.

July 22 witnessed a mass scale revolution with protesters blocking all highways in and going out of the cities across Pakistan. Shiites across the country took to the streets with a sit-in on all main arteries against their leader MWM Chief Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafri’s call.

The reports suggested around 80 venues in Pakistan with sit-ins addressed and led by many a clerics and dignitaries from MWM.

A sit-in in Islamabad, where Allama Nasir’s Hunger Strike continues for about 71 days, was led by MWM’s leader Allama Hasan Zafar demand a ‘Terror-Free Pakistan’.

Allama Hasan Zafar has continued with his supremo Allama Nasir since day one and has taken the toll of the hunger strike. He, earlier today, has been reported to be taken to a hospital, suffering from malnutrition.

Currently the cleric is under doctors observation in ICU, though stable but weak.
