“Israel May Cease to Exist Before 2048,” Says Prominent Zionist Writer

Shiite News: Dan Perry, a prominent writer and analyst, has expressed deep concern over what he described as existential threats and severe internal divisions facing Israel in a provocative article published in the Hebrew newspaper Maariv. He warned that Israel could cease to exist before reaching the centenary of its establishment in 2048.

Perry, a former editor at the Associated Press and author of several books, said that if Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wins the next election, Israel could be pushed further down what he described as a destructive path, with potentially devastating consequences. He argued that Israel’s current situation is more dangerous than many realize, saying that wars and the occupation have contributed to growing international isolation, further damaging the country’s economy and security.

The writer proposed 12 measures that he said could temporarily address the crisis and delay what he considers an impending disaster. These include investigating the events of October 7, accepting what he described as the Gaza plan, stopping settler violence in the West Bank, and restricting the expansion of settlements. Expressing concern over the regional resistance bloc, he also advised against a prolonged and unnecessary war with Iran and called for a reassessment of relations with Lebanon and Syria.

Addressing internal issues, Perry criticized corruption and directly pointed to Netanyahu, proposing that individuals involved in serious financial corruption should be barred from serving as prime minister. He also called for mandatory military service to apply to everyone, including students of religious seminaries.

At the conclusion of his article, Perry warned that unless these emergency measures are implemented promptly, he believes Israel may be unable to maintain its existence through 2048.
