Iranian Nation Prevails Against America Through Its Spirit of Martyrdom, Sunni Scholar Molavi Arefi Says

Shiite News: Molavi Abdul Rahman Arefi, a representative of the people of Sistan and Baluchestan in Iran’s Assembly of Experts of the Leadership, has said that love of worldly life and fear of death have intimidated and divided Muslims today.

Speaking on the television program Aftab-e Sharqi, he said the world had witnessed scenes of what he described as the genocide and starvation of Muslims in Gaza by the United States and the Israeli regime, while the Muslim world, despite possessing vast resources, merely watched these scenes on television. He said that, in reality, the people of Gaza and the Iranian nation, leadership and armed forces are standing in defense of the Muslim world and the first qibla.

Molavi Arefi attributed the weakness of the Muslim ummah to what he described as the emergence of “love of the world” and fear of death in Muslims’ hearts, in line with a reported prophecy of the Prophet of Islam (PBUH), leading them to fear jihad. He strongly criticized some Islamic countries, saying they are so fearful of jihad that they are attempting to remove Quranic verses concerning jihad from their school and university curricula. He argued that these countries turn to the United States for their defense, while Washington provides them with outdated weapons, uses them as testing grounds, sheds Muslim blood and exploits their resources.

Paying tribute to the late General Qassem Soleimani, Molavi Arefi said the Iranian nation is standing firmly against the United States and Israel because of its spirit of sacrifice and martyrdom, and that what he described as occupying powers have become completely disillusioned with the prospect of defeating Iran through war.

Molavi Arefi stressed that Islamic countries possess oil, gas and numerous other resources on which Western countries depend. He therefore called on Muslims to abandon extravagance and a culture of comfort and instead demonstrate steadfastness in confronting what he described as hegemonic powers.
