Shiite News: US media, citing informed sources, has reported that US President Donald Trump is strongly dissatisfied with the negotiations and agreement between Iran and Oman concerning the Strait of Hormuz. The US government reportedly believes that Omani officials granted Iran excessive concessions, particularly regarding joint monitoring of vessels in the Strait of Hormuz and the collection of transit fees.
According to the Associated Press, the White House’s position is that Oman did not take as tough a stance in negotiations with Iran as the United States wanted. Meanwhile, Russia’s TASS news agency reported that Trump threatened Oman on August 17, warning that it could face heavy bombing if it obstructed efforts to resolve the conflict between Iran and the United States.
