Arbaeen of Imam Hussain Is Not Merely a Gathering but a Living Miracle of His Truthfulness, Says Hujjat al-Islam Taqi Agha

Shiite News: During the annual Arbaeen pilgrimage from Najaf Ashraf to Karbala, the head of the Majlis-e-Ulama-e-Southern India, Hujjat al-Islam wal-Muslimeen Syed Taqi Raza Abidi, said that Arbaeen is not merely a religious gathering but a living miracle that reflects the truthfulness of Imam Hussain (AS), the revival of Islam, and the universal influence of the School of Ahlul Bayt (AS), a reality now witnessed by the entire world.

He stated that Arbaeen has been commemorated every year for more than 1,400 years, yet its freshness and spiritual impact remain so profound that it feels as though the tragedy of Karbala occurred only this year.

He further said that while governments honor great personalities through official ceremonies, Allah Almighty Himself highlighted the greatness of Imam Hussain’s (AS) martyrdom by preserving its remembrance for forty days. According to Islamic traditions, the heavens mourned and wept for forty days after Ashura.

Maulana Taqi Agha added that Arbaeen is mourned not only by the people of the earth but also by the inhabitants of the heavens. This, he said, is why the grief of Imam Hussain (AS) grows stronger and more heartfelt with each passing year.

He emphasized that without the powerful movement of Arbaeen, Iraq’s religious identity could have faced serious threats. Following the fall of Saddam Hussein’s regime, foreign powers attempted to expand their influence in Iraq, but the ever-growing Arbaeen movement frustrated those efforts and helped preserve Iraq as a strong center of the School of Ahlul Bayt (AS).

Concluding his remarks, Maulana Taqi Agha said that Arbaeen has become the greatest symbol of unity, awakening, and resistance against oppression in the Muslim world, and this movement will continue to keep the message of Imam Hussain (AS) alive across the globe.
