Five-Day Book Fair and Research Week Begins at Jamia-tul-Mustafa Karachi

Shiite News: With the aim of promoting students’ academic and research capabilities, Jamia-tul-Mustafa Al-Alamiya, Karachi (Pakistan Chapter) formally inaugurated a five-day book fair and research week.
The opening ceremony was held at Imam Khomeini Hall, attended by prominent scholars, teachers, and students.
The chief guest was Hujjat-ul-Islam wal-Muslimeen Muhammad Hussain Raisi, while other notable attendees included Hujjat-ul-Islam Sheikh Ahmed Nahvi, Sheikh Ghulam Muhammad Saleem, Agha Ghulam Hussain Mukhlisi, and students from Madrasa Imam Hasan Mujtaba and Jamia Masumeen.
The program began with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an by Qari Taqi Zakir, followed by a devotional presentation by student Mitham Memon and a spiritually uplifting performance by a group of Tawasheeh.
In his welcome address, Syed Ammar Hamdani, Director of Jamia-tul-Mustafa Karachi, emphasized the importance of education, research, and study.
He stated that research is not limited to scientific fields alone but is equally essential in Islamic sciences, requiring reflection, reasoning, and deep study. Quoting the sayings of the Supreme Leader, he stressed that knowledge and research are fundamental sources of intellectual confidence and comprehensive progress of the Ummah.
Chief guest Hujjat-ul-Islam Muhammad Hussain Raisi, in his address, highlighted the virtues of knowledge, the pen, and reading in the light of the opening verses of Surah Al-Alaq.
He reminded students that the first command of the Qur’an is “Iqra” (Read), clearly establishing knowledge and awareness as the foundation of Islam.
After the ceremony, the book exhibition was formally inaugurated by Hujjat-ul-Islam Sheikh Ghulam Muhammad Saleem. On the first day of Research Week, the book “Tarikh-e-Islam” authored by Dr. Aqeel Musa was unveiled by Allama Dr. Shabbir Hassan Mithami.
Allama Mithami praised Jamia-tul-Mustafa’s scholarly and research role, calling such initiatives essential for the promotion of knowledge and intellectual growth, and emphasized the need for continuity and further strengthening of such activities.
