An investigative journalist in Abu Dhabi Andre Vltchek has said that Saudi Arabia achieved nothing from the airstrikes over Yemen.

Press TV has conducted an interview with Andre Vltchek, an investigative journalist in Abu Dhabi, to discuss Saudi Arabia’s military aggression against Yemen.

He said that it was not different at all.

“There was a short pause but the attacks against Yemeni civilians, against Yemen, illegal attacks against the country are continuing vigorously, and obviously there is no end in sight.

There are of course developments now on the ground in Yemen. The Houthis are advancing in Aden. There was a punitive cross-border attack of the Houthis against Saudi Arabia; skirmishes at the border, but generally, the biggest loss of lives comes from the bombing of the civilians by Saudi air force.

It is actually very cynical bombing. We probably all heard about the promise that the pilots of the Saudi fighter jets received from the Saudi government that they would be rewarded Bentley limousines for these airstrikes. It is very cynical actually,” he said.

He said that there was one theory which I actually believe it was very possible, very probable, was that actually this was not only a war against Yemen, it was not only destruction of the Yemeni civilians.

He said, “It is a practice that Saudi air force is performing. They are basically practicing on the civilians in case that they will get engaged in a war against Iran or if they would join a coalition against Syria.

So in fact, this does not seem logical. There is almost nothing that this air force, that this bombing campaign can achieve. The Houthis are advancing. They are very popular in Yemen. They will not be deterred. The only people who are suffering are civilians.

So what is the reason for this? Most likely, it is a practicing of bombing skills of Saudi air force and sacrificing hundreds, maybe thousands of civilians.”
