Allama Raja Nasir highlights importance of blessed month of Shaaban, while calling for benefitting from this holy month.

Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) Pakistan secretary general Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafari said this in his message for the Islamic month.

He referred to the hadees that Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) called Shaaban as his month.

Therefore, he urged to strive and endeavour the level best to qualify for the blessing and nearness to Allah (God).

Shaaban comes every year as the 8th month of Islamic lunar calendar after Rajab and prior to Ramazan.

Notably, Shia Muslims attach immense importance to Rajab, Shaaban and Ramazan.

They observe recommended fast as optional fast during Rajab and Shaaban unlike obligatory fast of Ramazan.

Moreover, Shia Muslims and also offer special prayers throughout the month.

Meanwhile, Shia Muslims celebrate birth anniversaries of Bibi Zainab (AS), Imam Hussain (AS), Hazrat Abbas Alamdar (AS), Imam Ali Zainul Abedin (Sajjad) and Imam Mehdi (PBUT).

Besides, they also celebrate birth anniversaries of Islamic saints from Ahle Bayt (AS) during Shaaban.
