Yaqub Hussaini of MWM among 28 Shiites implicated in false case on Ashura

Matli Police of District Badin booked 28 Shia Muslims including Yaqoob Hussaini, Secretary Organisational Affairs of Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen in what appeared to punish them for protecting the peaceful mourners on Ashura Day.

Yaqoob Hussaini and other Shia Muslims participated in the Ashura mourning procession in Matli where takfiri nasbi terrorists of banned Sipah-e-Sahaba (ASWJ) began pelting the azadars (mourners) with stones. The mourners retaliated in self-defence to deter the terrorists. Matli police that failed to protect Shia Muslims on Ashura against the takfiri terrorist attack, successfully implicated Shia Muslims in false case.

Shia parties and leaders have asked the PPP-led Sindh Government to clarify its position on its inaction against the takfiris for attacks on Shia Muslims in the province and false cases against peaceful and law-abiding Shiites. They said that Sindh Government was trying to emulate biased and pro-takfiri Punjab in anti-Shia policy.
