Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Responds to NATO Chief Over Use of European Bases

Shiite News: Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Kazem Gharibabadi has strongly responded to remarks by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte concerning the use of European bases in support of U.S. military operations against Iran.

According to reports, Gharibabadi wrote on social media that Rutte’s acknowledgment that 5,000 flights had been conducted from European bases in support of U.S. military operations against Iran showed, in his view, that Europe had been part of the infrastructure supporting the military action.

Gharibabadi further warned that governments that had made their territory available to the United States could not distance themselves from responsibility for the use of their territory. He said that Iran would respond firmly to what he described as their role in the military operations.
