Shia Islamic seminaries to remain closed until July 15 due to govt pressure because government disallowed opening of seminaries.
Although the government has allowed opening of markets, bazaars and transport across the country, it has not allowed seminaries to open.
Shia Islamic seminaries to remain closed
While representing religious seminaries of all schools of Islamic thought, Ittehad Tanzimaat-e-Madaris-e-Deenia had held talks with the government.
The body which has representation of seminaries announced failure of talks.
Federation of Shia Islamic seminaries’ general secretary Allama Afzal Hyderi said that teachers and pupils at religious seminaries remain concerned due to this double standard.
In this regard, he has sent a letter to the principals of Shia Islamic seminaries, members of Wifaqul Madaris al Shia Pakistan.
Factually speaking, the Shia Islamic scholars and Shia Islamic parties have ensured implementation of SOPs regarding Covid19.
Besides, they wholeheartedly supported the government and health officials policy and advice regarding the matter.
But government remains biased to Shia Muslims and their rituals in particular and also to other religious groups viewpoint regrading seminaries.
On the other hand, the death toll from the Coronavirus (covid19) virus stood at 2,463 on Friday morning.
According to official update on Covid19, 6,397 new coronavirus cases have surfaced in the country over the last twenty-four hours. It raised the total tally to 125,933.
As many as 107 deaths reported over the last twenty-four hours.
Meanwhile, 40,247 patients have so far recovered from the disease.
28,344 corona tests also carried out during this period.
