Jafaria Community’s Firm Stance: Resistance Will Be Made If Mourning Processions Are Obstructed

Shiite News: The Ja’faria community of Pakistan held a joint press conference yesterday to condemn alleged terrorist attacks in Iran and Iraq attributed to the United States and Saudi Arabia, the Punjab government’s restrictions on mourning activities (Azadari), enforced disappearances, and sectarian speeches against Shia Muslims by extremist Takfiri groups.

During the press conference, the leaders of the Ja’faria community stated that they seek cooperation with the government regarding Azadari, but warned that if obstacles are created in the way of mourning activities, they will respond with resistance.

The leaders emphasized that Azadari in remembrance of Imam Hussain (AS) is a fundamental expression of faith, love, and devotion, as well as a constitutional and religious right. They called on the authorities to end policies that restrict or complicate mourning activities through administrative measures.

The speakers also condemned what they described as aerial attacks by the United States and Saudi Arabia in Iran and Iraq, calling them dangerous for regional peace and stability.

Expressing concern over enforced disappearances, the leaders demanded that authorities immediately provide information about missing persons and ensure justice for their families.

The Ja’faria leadership also voiced serious concern over sectarian speeches and hate narratives targeting the Shia community by Takfiri elements, urging the government to take impartial legal action against those responsible.

Reiterating their position, the leaders said they favor cooperation and mutual respect with the government regarding Azadari. However, they stressed that if barriers are placed in the way of mourning activities, the Ja’faria community will firmly defend its constitutional and religious rights.

The press conference was attended by Allama Nazir Abbas Taqvi (Central Additional Secretary, Shia Ulema Council Pakistan), Allama Baqir Hussain Qibla (Ja’faria Alliance), Maulana Asghar Shahidi (Haith-e-Aimma), Brother Hassan (ISO), Brother Yawar (Bedari Ummat), Maulana Aqeel Musa, Allama Nisar Ahmad Qalandari (Ja’faria Alliance), Maulana Haider Abbas Abidi (Majlis Nazarat Ulema), Ali Hussain and Janab Abbas Haider (Tanzeem Azadari), Allama Kamran Abidi (Shia Ulema Council), Janab Hassan Sagheer (Ja’faria Organization), along with other religious scholars and community representatives.
