Arbaeen Has Become a Global Movement, Says Allama Afzal Haideri

Shiite News: Hujjat-ul-Islam wal-Muslimeen Allama Muhammad Afzal Haideri, Principal of Jamia Al-Muntazar, Model Town, Lahore, said on the occasion of Arbaeen that Arbaeen is no longer merely a religious gathering but has evolved into a great global movement that promotes the love of Ahlul Bayt (AS) and the message of Karbala.

He said the participation of millions of pilgrims demonstrates that the message of Imam Hussain (AS) has transcended the boundaries of time and geography. People from different countries, languages, and cultures, along with women and children, take part in this spiritual journey, renewing their commitment to safeguarding Islam and upholding truth and justice.

Allama Haideri stated that the ever-growing Arbaeen movement presents a serious challenge to falsehood and arrogant powers. According to many scholars, this worldwide movement is among the important factors preparing the ground for the reappearance of Imam al-Mahdi (AJTF).

He stressed that Arbaeen is not merely about walking or visiting the holy shrine. Rather, it is a movement of self-accountability, character building, and intellectual transformation. Simply repeating the pledge of truth contained in Ziyarat Arbaeen is not enough; believers must reflect it in their daily lives, conduct, and dealings.

He further said that every believer has a responsibility to protect Islam, establish justice, oppose oppression, and serve humanity. This, he said, is the true message of Arbaeen and the path to genuine devotion to Ahlul Bayt (AS). He concluded by praying for the acceptance of the pilgrims’ worship, unity among the Muslim Ummah, and the early reappearance of Imam al-Mahdi (AJTF).
