Allama Ahmad Iqbal Rizvi Declares: Arbaeen Walk Cannot Be Stopped; Under Which Law Are Zakireen Taken to Police Stations?

Shiite News: Vice Chairman of Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) Pakistan, Allama Syed Ahmad Iqbal Rizvi, stated that the Arbaeen Walk (Mashi) cannot be stopped under any circumstances. He questioned the legal basis for removing religious speakers (Zakireen) from pulpits and taking them to police stations, asking, “Under which law is this permitted?”

Addressing the issue of missing Shia persons, Allama Rizvi adopted a firm stance, saying that keeping individuals forcibly disappeared for ten years or more has no legal justification. He demanded the immediate recovery of all missing persons and insisted that if anyone faces allegations, they should be presented before a court in accordance with Pakistan’s Constitution and the law.

Allama Rizvi further stated that for the past 1,400 years, attempts have been made to suppress the mourning ceremonies of Imam Hussain (AS) through oppression and coercion. However, he said that with every passing year, Azadari has grown stronger, adding that no matter what tactics are employed, the love of Imam Hussain (AS) can never be removed from the hearts of believers.

He added that the continued hardships faced by the Shia community demonstrate that the constitutional rights of Shia Muslims in Pakistan are being violated. According to him, removing Zakireen from pulpits, detaining them in police stations, and harassing mourners constitute a clear violation of Pakistan’s Constitution, for which the government must be held accountable.
