Shia Ulema Council leaders meet ruling PTI leader Ejaz Chaudhry to inform him about biased and unfair policy regarding Zaireen in the name of quarantine.

Allama Syed Sibtain Sabzwari, Hafiz Kazim Raza and other senior leaders of Shia Ulema Council leaders met Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader in Lahore.

They lodged their protest over the inhuman maltreatment at the quarantine centres of the government.

The senior scholar Hafiz Kazim said they support precautionary measures to prevent Coronavirus spread in the country but they condemn double standards and selective enforcement of the measures.

SUC Lahore Division chapter president Qasim Shamsi complained that federal government Kept Zaireen at Taftan border town since February 28, 2020 to March 13.

Then, on the basis of negative test reports, they allowed Zaireen to return their home province Punjab but Punjab provincial government didn’t allow them to go home.

Since March 14, 2020 to April 04, Punjab government kept them at quarantine centre in Multan. On the basis of their negative test reports, Punjab government permitted them to go to their districts but district administration too didn’t allow them to go home.

The leaders of Shia Ulema Council lamented that despite negative test reports, political government and bureaucracy have not allowed Zaireen to go their homes.

Mr. Shamsi also cited an example of Sheikhupura civil hospital where management is misbehaving with Shia Zaireen.

The concerned staff is not getting their blood samples and even not providing potable drinking water and good quality food.

PTI leader Ejaz Chaudhry talked to Commissioner Sheikhupura by phone. He asked the commissioner to address the grievances of Zaireen.

These Zaireen (pilgrims) had gone to sacred shrines of great Islamic saints (infallible Imams) in Iraq via Iran. Many went to Iran for pilgrimage of the holy shrine of Imam Reza in Mashhad.

On their return to their home country via Taftan border crossing, the authorities concerned took them under custody for quarantine under precautionary measures.
