Yazidi takfiri nasbi terrorists of banned Sipah-e-Sahaba (ASWJ) on Thursday opened fire on Dean of Islamic Studies at the University of Karachi Professor Dr Shakeel Auj in Gulshan-e-Iqbal area of Karachi leaving him martyred. The Sunni scholar was on his way to Khana-e-Farhang of Islamic Republic of Iran to attend a ceremony being organized to honour him.
According to the Vice Chancellor of Karachi University, Dr Shakeel Auj was critically injured when unidentified assailants ambushed his car near Baitul Mukarram Mosque in Gulshan-e-Iqbal area. He was rushed to hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

He was accompanied by Professor Dr Tahir Masood when he was attacked and was on his way to Khana-e-Farhang or Cultural Centre of Islamic Republic of Iran to attend a ceremony organized to honour him.

Fortunately, Dr Tahir Masood remained safe during the incident and shifted his injured colleague to the hospital who couldn’t survive the attack. Dr Shakeel’s paternal niece Dr. Shakeel Auj was also injured in the attack.

It is pertinent to mention that the government of Pakistan had recently announced to honour both the scholars with the second highest civilian award, Hilal-e-Imtiaz.

Shia parties and leaders have condemned the targeted murder of Dr Shakeel Auj. They said that Yazidi takfiri nasbi terrorists were aware of Dr Shakeel Auj’s friendly relations with Shia Muslims due to which they detested him. They demanded capital punishment to the terrorist involved in his murder.
