Haaretz Analysis: Mecca Alliance Is Not a Military Front Against Iran
Shiite News: In a report, the Israeli Hebrew-language newspaper Haaretz said that the alliance formed through the Mecca Agreement between Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and Pakistan will not necessarily develop into a military front against Iran. According to the report, although some regional issues involve countering Iranian influence, all three countries have made clear that the alliance was not established against any particular country.
According to Haaretz, if additional countries join the alliance, it could evolve into a broader political and diplomatic platform rather than a conventional military alliance. The report said member states could use the forum to open channels for direct negotiations with Iran and develop new principles for cooperation on issues concerning the Persian Gulf, the Red Sea, the Strait of Hormuz and the Bab al-Mandab.

The newspaper concluded that the alliance’s primary significance would not lie in confrontation with the “Axis of Resistance,” but rather in its ability to manage regional crises and engage in negotiations with Tehran.
