ISO and MWM stage sit-in protest outside Punjab Assembly against the Shia Killings

Imamia Students Organization (ISO) and Majlis-e-Wahdate Muslimeen (MWM) on Sunday taken out protest rally from Lahore Press Club to Punjab Assembly building against the genocide of Shia Muslims in Pakistan.

According to the Shiite News Correspondent, The participants of protest rally was

staged more than two hours sitin protest against the killings of Shia Muslims in Kurram Agency, Karachi, and Quetta and denounced the Punjab government backing to the outlawed religious organization in Punjab Province.

 

Large Number of people including women, children, and people from all walks of life were attending the protest rally and expressed their concerns over the silence of law enforcement agencies on the recent killing of Shia Muslims in Quetta, Karachi and Kurram Agency.

Addressing the protest sitin demonstration outside the Punjab Assembly building, Majlis-e-Wahdate Muslimeen (MWM) Punjab General secretary Maulana Khaliq Asadi, Maulana Nazim Hussain Rizvi, Raza Muzafari and ISO former President Sarfaraz Hussaini and others denounced the killing of Shia community in the various parts of the country including Quetta, Kohat, Karachi and Kurram Agency.

They alleged that the Government was failed to protect the Shia community of the country from the terrorists as the thousands of people belongs to the community were killed by the terrorists in Quetta, Kurram Agency, Kohat, Karachi and other parts of the country.

They demanded of the Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry to take immediate notice of the killing of Shia people in Pakistan and activities of banned religious outfits in Punjab Province.

The Shia leaders expressed their deep concern on the support of Punjab Government to the banned terrorist’s outfit of Sipah-e-Sahaba and denounced the discriminatory policies of Punjab Government against the Shia community in Punjab.

It may be noted here that the Taliban terrorists in Parachinar, Hangu districts and much of the Kurram tribal agency have been martyred thousands of Shia community people during the last three years but the Government has failed to protect the 0.8 Million Shia population of Kurram Agency from the Taliban terrorists.

However, Quetta, the capital of Pakistan’s restive southwestern Balochistan Province has witnessed several instances of violence directed against the Shia community in last two years.

Several religious gatherings of Shia Community have also been targeted in the various parties of Pakistan by the Taliban and Al-Qeeda affiliated terrorists of outlawed Sipah-e-Sahaba.
