Sabqadar attack was revenge of Mumtaz Qadri’s execution: Taliban

Shiite News: A suicide bomber blew himself outside the session court in Tehsil Sabqadar of Charsadah on Monday.

According to the news, sixteen people including police officials, women and children were killed as a result of the blast and more than 25 were injured several of whom are in serious condition.

Borders of Shabqadar are adjacent to Mahmand Agency whereas on the other hand its borders are adjacent to Peshawar and Bajore Agency and Afghanistan.

Spokesperson of Jamat al Ahrar, a group separated from Taliban, Ahsan Ullah Ahsan claimed the responsibility of Shabqadar attack and declared it as the revenge of Mumtaz Qadr’s execution.

Security forces keep on taking actions against extremists in Mahmand Agency but since the area is near Afghan border terrorists take refuge in Afghanistan whenever an operation is being conducted in the area.

President of Shabqadar Bar Association Sher Qadir Khatak expressed his dissatisfaction over security measures and said “Being linked to tribal areas Shabqadar is an extremely sensitive area but the security measures that were required for the area have not been taken. There is no CCTV camera in the entire area”.

These concerns were earlier expressed by different circles as well that terrorist organization would use Mumtaz Qadri’s execution to achieve their own objectives.
