Advisor to Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution Imam Khamenei on foreign affairs and renowned Iranian diplomat Ali Akbar Velayati has informed Pakistani nation that Iran is capable to lay the Pak-Iran gas pipeline on its own and didnâ€™t need any technical support from the U.S. or Europe.
This, he said, while talking to the Sunni and Shia leaders of Pakistanâ€™s polity during his visit to Karachi, the commercial hub of Pakistan on Friday.
â€œIran has laid the gas pipeline to every nook any cranny of Iran and has technical expertise how to do this job,â€ he said commenting on the reports that Pakistan faces technical problems in laying the pipeline.
Those who met here included Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistanâ€™s chief Syed Munawar Hassan, Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeenâ€™s deputy secretary general Allama Amin Shaheedi and several other Sunni and Shia leaders.
Ali Akbar Velayati, former top diplomat of Islamic Republic of Iran stressed on the unity of Muslims and said that Islamic world is capable to defeat the enemies of Islam through its unity.
â€œIran leads efforts to strengthen unity of Muslims across the world and recently more than 600 Sunni and Shia Muslim scholars have participated in the Global Muslim Unity Conference in Tehran,â€ he said.
On this occasion, JI leader Munawar Hassan expressed full support to the Pak-Iran gas pipeline and said that Iranian help and assistance would help Pakistan overcome its energy crisis.
â€œPakistan-Iran alliance will defeat U.S. and NATOâ€™s imperialistic agenda in the region and particularly in Afghanistan,â€ Munawar Hassan said urging that Pakistani government should focus on making ties with Iran more closer and more friendly and brotherly.
Mr. Velayati informed the Pakistani religio-parties leaders that a condolence reference was also held at the Global Unity Conference in Tehran to pay homage to great Muslim leader of Pakistan Qazi Hussain Ahmed.
He said that Qazi Hussain Ahmed of Jamaat-e-Islami was a great leader and he was part of global efforts being made for strong Muslim bonds. He said that he was member of International Islamic Proximity Organisation and the deceased was a sincere friend of Iran as well.
