2 martyred, 15 injured in Karachi blast near at Shiite Mosque

bomb blastTwo people were martyred and 13 others sustained injuries in a blast in the Shiite Society Abbas Town area, located on Abul Hasan Ispahani Road, Karachi on Sunday.

Azhar Hussain, a residence of Abbas Town and a AhleSunnat person were martyred in the bomb blast at Abbas Town Society Karachi. Explosives were planted on a motorcycle outside a milk shop, bordering an electricity pole on the entrance of Abbas Town near to Jamia Masjid Mustafa (pbuh), where the Azadars (mourners) were busy in the congregation of Central Majlis held at Abbas Town. The bomb was intended to be placed outside the Jamia Masjid-o-imam bargah Mustafa (pbuh), but the area was blocked off to entry.

Following the blast, protesters from the Shia community stormed the area and The Rangers personnel opened the straight firing on the mourners at Abul Hassan Isphani Road.The security forces have cordoned off the area, while emergency has been declared in all the hospitals in the city. The injured, few of whom are in a critical condition, have been taken to the nearby Patel Hospital.
The leaders of Shiite Community condemned the failure of the Law Enforcement Agencies and demanded of the deployment of Pakistan Army to prevent the peace of Karachi during Muharram.
