Therefore, Muslims began observing fast prior to the beginning of Fajr time.

During the blessed month of Ramazan, Muslims observe fast during a particular pre-Fajr and post-Maghrib duration.

That means, any sort of eating and drinking remains forbidden since before Fajr to the complete sunset with its rays.

Notably Shia Muslims strictly follow the complete sunset with its rays as a time for iftar.

Earlier, a meeting of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee held Tuesday evening to sight the crescent moon of the blessed month.

For the first time, he presided Ramazan moon-sighting meeting because federal government appointed him chairman of the committee in December last year.

He had replaced Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman.

However, Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) had also predicted clear possibility of sighting of the Ramazan moon Tuesday evening.
