Syrian army inflicts heavy losses on militants

The Syrian army has inflicted heavy losses on the foreign-backed militants during its latest operations against the terrorist groups across the country.

Syrian soldiers killed and injured a number of militants in several areas, including in al-Bab, al-Sahhara, Kafar Karmin, al-Shiekh Ahmad, Ain al-Jamajmieh, al-Kallasa, Jamiat al-Zahra and al-Layramoun in Aleppo, the official SANA news agency reported on Monday.
Syrian troops also targeted militants in Binnish in Idlib, killing and injuring scores of them, and destroying their weaponry and ammunition.
Army units also stormed a militant hideout in the town of al-Yacoubiye in Jisr al-Shughour area, killing nine militants and injuring many others.
The Syrian army units also conducted successful operations in Mugher al-Mir, al-Darkhabiyeh, and Khan al-Shih in the countryside of the capital Damascus, killing many of the Takfiri militants.
Syrian government forces also clashed with militants in kherbt Ghazaleh, Nawa, al-Kassara area on Simlin-Zimrin roundabout, Tafas and al-Mzairib areas in the countryside of Daraa.
Elsewhere, in the villages of Um Hawadid, Unq al-Hawa, Rahhoum and Masa’deh in the countryside of Homs, Syrian army units inflicted heavy losses on the militants.
Syria has been gripped by deadly violence since March 2011. Over 160,000 people have reportedly been killed and millions displaced due to the violence fueled by the Western-backed militants.
The West and its regional allies, including Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey, are giving financial and military support to the militants.
