Maliki warns of postponing the elections after en bloc resignation of Election Commissioners

BAGHDAD: Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki described the issuance of order from the House of Representatives to the Electoral Commission to cancel the exclusion of some candidates to the elections as a dangerous and illegal behavior.

Maliki in his weekly speech urged the Iraqi House of Representatives and the Electoral Commission for elections comply with the prescribed legal requirements.

He warned “to postpone the parliamentary elections because of the mass resignation of members of the Board of Commissioners which was made yesterday due to the interference in the work of the Commission to take certain decisions.
