Hakim invites Iraqis to unity

According to AFP, Ammar Hakim Thursday in a cultural meeting in the presence of hundreds of Iraqis in Baghdad said the participation and cooperation of all political groups  in the country’s important issues is the only avenue for the country’s unity and maintenance of Iraq’s sovereignty.

The head of Iraqi High Islamic Assembly stressed Iraqi independence and national sovereignty and independent decision-making and noted that access to independence and national sovereignty is achieved only through having joint viewpoints in main and decisive issues.

Referring to remaining of two weeks for the Iraqi lawmakers to choose the Iraqi speaker and president, Hakim stressed more efforts by political groups for forming the national unity government.
