Lebanon’s security, territorial integrity very important to Iran: MP

“Lebanon’s security and territorial integrity are very important to us and we pursue stability in the region,” said the chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of Iran’s parliament (Majlis) on Thursday.

Boroujerdi is in Beirut to attend the commemoration ceremony of six Hezbollah members and an Iranian commander who lost their lives in the Israeli airstrike on Syria’s Golan Height on January 18.

“We have always supported the [anti-Israeli] resistance and will continue to do so,” the lawmaker stated.

Boroujerdi also condemned the recent Israeli attack, saying, “This crime showed that this regime has no red line for its criminal activities.”

The commemoration ceremony for the victims of the Israeli airstrike will be held on Friday with Hezbollah’s leader, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, addressing the congregation.

On January 18, an Israeli military helicopter fired two missiles into Amal Farms in the strategic southwestern Syrian city of Quneitra, close to the line separating the Syrian part of the Golan Heights from the Israeli-occupied sector.

Six Hezbollah members as well as Brigadier General Mohammad Ali Allahdadi, an Iranian commander, lost their lives in the Israeli assault.

On Wednesday, Hezbollah killed two Israeli soldiers in a retaliatory attack on an Israeli convoy in northern occupied territories.
