MWM stages demonstration to protest against Shia Killings in DI Khan
Supporters of Majlis-e-Wahdat-ul-Muslimeen (MWM) Pakistan’s Karachi chapter staged a demonstration after Friday prayers to protest against the unabated targeted murders of Shia Muslims in Dera Ismail Kan.
The MWM’s chief Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafari had given a call for observance of Protest Day on Friday and the party supporters held rallies and demonstrations across Sindh province to mark the day while main demo was held outside Khoja Shia Isna Ashari Masjid in Kharadar (Karachi).
The protesters were raising slogans against the Shia genocide, unabated targeted killings of Shia Muslims in Dera Ismail Khan. They were also carrying placards and banners inscribed with their demands for arrest of the terrorists and capital punishment for them.
Karachi-based leaders of MWM Allama Ali Anwar Jafari, Allama Nishan e Haider, Allama Sadiq Jafari, Allama Mubashir Hassan and other office bearers spoke to the protesters.
They lambasted the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial government and security agencies for their failure in protecting the lives of peaceful and law-abiding Shia Muslim citizens of Pakistan in particular and other people in general. They lamented that people of Dera Ismail Khan particularly of Purwa area of the district were left at unclaimed by the state authorities and caretaker government.
They said that the government and law enforcement agencies failed to eliminate the network of banned terrorist outfits from the country. They demanded ruthless operation against the banned militant outfits and their seminaries. They asked Chief of the Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa to intervene into this serious matter and play his due role in rooting out menace of takfiri sectarianism which claimed the lives of thousands of skilled people.
They demanded the KP’s IG Police to resign admitting his failure to maintain law and order situation in the province. He said terrorist attacks on Shia Muslims and other people also continued during PTI-led KP government; therefore PTI leadership too should now take concrete measures to eliminate terrorism in that province.
