8 ISIS members, including leader, arrested in Mosul
Iraqi troops have arrested eighteen ISIS members in Mosul, according to an Iraqi security source and the Security Media Center.
A prominent IS member of the so-called Islamic Police was arrested while attempting to escape from east to west of Mosul, the center said in a statement.
Earlier today, a security source told the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA), that seventeen members “were arrested in Baaj town, west of Mosul, depending on information from the intelligence.”
The detainees, according to the source, “were transferred to Nineveh Operations Command for investigations ahead of standing trials.”
Two IS members were reportedly killed and injured on Tuesday during a security operation carried out, south of Mosul.
